We have been looking for a rosé of this style and fine quality from Provence for several years and finally found what we have been looking for! Our Le Charmel Rosé is sourced from vineyards in the Provencal hillsides near the village of Bandol on the Mediterranean coast. There we work with a dynamic young couple to produce this delicious wine. The wine is blended from the prime Provence grape varieties: 30% Syrah, 30% Cinsault, 20% Mourvèdre, 10% Grenache, and 10% of the lesser known varietal Rolle, known in Italy as Vermentino.
After ripening, the grapes are manually picked, hand sorted, and destemmed on site. All fermentation and maturation was conducted in stainless steel tanks, leaving a deliciously dry, crisp, fruit forward wine.
When you open a bottle of Le Charmel Côtes de Provence Rosé, you’ll discover beautiful aromas and flavors of raspberries and strawberries that come bursting forth with hints of wild flowers. On the palate, the wine is refreshingly bright and clean, with the berry flavors mingling with pears and a healthy acidity to give it that lovely freshness.
We recommend enjoying this Rosé with a variety of pairings, or just on it’s own in your backyard. It performs wonderfully with goat cheese, complements all light hors d’oeuvres and salads, and provides an excellent backdrop to almost any seafood dish.
